Jacobsen Elected Rotary Club of Fresno President

Ryan Jacobsen, of Easton, has been elected the 107th president of the Rotary Club of Fresno. His term begins today, July 1, for the 2020-2021 year, taking over for outgoing president, Todd Sheller. He has been a Rotarian of the club for eight years.

Jacobsen is a fourth-generation California farmer and CEO of Fresno County Farm Bureau. Additionally, he is board president for the Fresno Irrigation District, secretary/treasurer of the Kings River Water Association, secretary of BizFed—Central Valley and member of the Fresno Chamber’s Governmental Affairs Committee.

“I have thoroughly enjoyed my time as a Rotarian, making impactful relationships and serving our community,” said Jacobsen. “It is a tremendous honor to be among the great leaders who have served this club and region over the past century.”

Fresno Rotary is appreciative of outgoing president Sheller for his year of service. Under Sheller’s leadership, the Fresno Rotary has spent the last four months transitioning to online meetings due to COVID-19 while continuing to impact our local community via grants to organizations assisting with relief.

Besides Jacobsen, the 2020-2021 Fresno Rotary Board includes officers President-elect Karen Musson, Secretary Darren Rose, Treasurer Dick Herrinton, and Immediate Past President Todd Sheller, as well as members Ann Abajian, David Allumbaugh, John Baerg, Steve Canfield, John Coakley, Jim Ford, Nicole Linder, Jeff Rickels, Blair Sobba and Serop Torossian.

The Rotary Club of Fresno is one of the fifty largest Rotary clubs in the world, chartered on March 1, 1916. Meetings take place Mondays at noon at the Cornerstone Conference Center but are currently meeting via Zoom for the foreseeable future due to COVID-19 restrictions.
